Краткое описание

Описание
English: This image shows a comparison of the monthly average NO2(Nitrogen Dioxide) levels as measured by the Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite before, during and after the lockdown period over the Padana Plain, located in the northern part of Italy. As the lockdown began in March 2020, the drop of NO2 levels is particularly visible in the map of April 2020. While the data of May 2020, when the release gradually started, shows an increase for the concentration of the NO2. The Copernicus Sentinel-5P mission has been designed to perform atmospheric measurements with high spatiotemporal resolution, to be used for air quality, ozone and UV radiation, and climate monitoring and forecasting. The satellite has a daily global revisit time and carries the TROPOMI instrument, a state-of-the-art spectrometer that operates in the UV-VIS-NIR-SWIR spectral range.
